Hi, I’m JEANNE.
Jeanne is a food anthropologist, culinary teacher, and host. Of French heritage, she was raised in Manhattan and is now based in London, originally drawn to the city for a MA in Anthropology of Food at SOAS in 2016. Her professional career has taken her in various directions, all within the food and hospitality sectors in London and the UK. From working in ingredients sales, on food start-ups & copywriting, and in kitchens & bakeries, Jeanne has a well-rounded understanding of the industry.
When she’s not teaching culinary courses, she’s working to bring about positive change in the hospitality industry with the brilliant and ground-breaking Countertalk team, or hosting nourishing dinner parties with & the Table.
My Approach
When it comes to teaching & hosting, I like to adapt a thoughtful and connected approach - working with my students and guests to tailor their practice to their own environment and the equipment at their disposal, ultimately encouraging them to develop their ‘culinary intuition'.
"Fantastic class! Jeanne is very knowledgeable, she'll provide you with all the necessary information to bake delicious sourdough bread and how to maintain the starter. You'll walk away with a freshly baked loaf of bread, dough to bake another one at home and with a huge smile on your face and the eagerness to bake more, more and more!"

"What a wonderfully wholesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon! We learned so much from our knowledgeable and interesting teacher, and our ferments smell great - we can't wait to crack into them once they've pickled to perfection."

"It was an amazing class (got it as a gift) that I am so happy I got to experience. As a fan of eating fermented stuff but with not too much hands-on experience, this was an excellent introductory course. Lovely and helpful teacher, well prepared and presented class with all the materials handy, it was just the perfect way to spend part of my Sunday!"
